U15 Camogie Blitz
On Monday, April 7th, Coláiste Phobal Ros Cré participated in the County Tipperary U15 C Camogie Blitz. The venue was Moneygall GAA field.. St Annes of Tipp Town, Pres Clonmel, Ballingarry and Coláiste Phobal Ros Cré were the 4 schools that took part. Shield winners on the day were Ballingarry while Coláiste Phobal Ros Cré won the Plaque final.
The blitz ran very smoothly in ideal weather conditions.

Transition Year Gaisce Hike
Our Transition Year students completed their Bronze Gaisce Adventure Journey in Glendalough this week. Basking in glorious sunshine, the got up close and personal with nature. Well done to all of our students who complete this challenge and to their teachers Ms. Mulrooney, Mr. Haugh, Ms. Dunne, Mr. Newman and Ms. McCormack for accompanying them on this three day trip.
Tipperary County Athletics – Secondary Schools Track and Field Championships
The County Secondary Schools Track and Field Championships were held in Templemore on Wed. 9th April. A large number of students took part in a broad range of events under the blissful blue sky. Coláiste Phobal Ros Cré were represented by a team of 36 athletes. All competed to their best ability and many to great success.
Our stalwart, Marie Shanahan got us off to a great start with a throw of 31.16m in the Inter discus, winning the gold medal. She followed this up with a best throw of 38.71m in the hammer, and finishing in 2nd place. Several athletes competed in the heats of the 100m , with Sorcha Phelan, Kayleigh Delaney, Aoife Moore, Osayamon Ogbebor, Lorcan Nolan, Luke Marks, Kailum O’Meara, Brendan Duma, Alex Andronic and Christian Nolan all qualifying for semi finals or finals. Osaymon Ogbebor ran a terrific final to finish in 1st place. Luke Marks was 3rd in both the 100m and the 80m hurdles.
In the long jump, Brendan Duma was 1st with a jump of 4.90m in the Inter boys and Kailum O’Meara was 2nd in the Junior Boys with a best jump of 4.99m. Ramai Havatitye was 5th in the Seniors, while Om Issen also finished well in his first outing in the Inter long jump.
Callum Wrenn also did really well to finish 5th in the Minor Shot Putt (8.31m) as this was his first competition. Devin Feehan finished in 6th place (8.87m) and Cillian Moloney in 10th place (8.53m) in the Junior Shot where 34 athletes took part.
As always, the relays were the concluding event of the day and once again our teams performed to a very high level. Our minor girls, Halle Shanahan, Sorcha Phelan, Orlaith Ryan and Kyla Ryan came 3rd. The Junior boys won their relay in impressive style. The team comprised of Kailum O’Meara, Osayamon Ogbebor, Luke Marks and Harry O’Donoghue. Despite winning their heat, the Inter boys were pipped on fastest time into 2nd place. They were Christian Nolan, Alex Andronic, Jack Walsh and Brendan Duma.
The girls are competing in the East Munsters in Templemore on Wed. 30th April, while the boys travel to Waterford for their East Munsters on May 8th. We look forward to a good attendance at training and wish our athletes the best of luck in the remainder of the season.

Senior Camogie
Tuesday April 6th saw our Senior Camogie Team take on Killina in the Kate Birmingham Cup semi final. In glorious sunshine, both schools played super camogie with great skill and ability on show. Coláiste Phobal Ros Cré secured victory by a 2 point margin.
Final score: Coláiste Phobal Ros Cré: 2-11 Killina: 3-6
Our senior camogie team now play Banagher College in the Kate Birmingham Cup Final after Easter. Well done to our girls and their management team made up of Ms. O Gorman, Una Teehan, Mr. Delaney and Ms. Hynes.
