BADMINTON
Badminton Success at the Tipperary Schools Badminton Championship

On Monday and Tuesday of this week we sent a number of teams to the Tipperary Schools Badminton Championship which was hosted in Our Lady’s College, Templemore.

Well done to our U16 Boys who will now head on to Limerick in January to represent Tipperary in the Munster Schools Competition having been crowned county champions on Monday. Commiserations to our u19 girls who just missed out on top spot and came second overall after a hard-fought battle in the final.

Well done to all our students who travelled including those for whom this was their first competitive outing.

SENIOR FOOTBALL
On Tuesday the 12th of November our senior football panel traveled to Coolmore Morris park Thurles to take on Coláiste Mhuire in the first championship game of the year which was a very foggy morning for football. In the opening minutes of the match we trailed by 2 points to none but we got straight back into it with a brilliant goal from Miko Pasalic. Soon after we converted points coming from James Sampson, Jack Walsh, Paul Dooley and a super point kicked by Josh Loughnane. 25 minutes into the first half great defending from Sean Maher and Eoghan Sheedy leads to Miko Pasalic getting his second goal of the game and is on a brace witch was well worked by Paul Simpson and Seamie Cleare. Unfortunately soon after another quick goal from Coláiste Mhuire puts them into the lead coming up to half time. Cathal McDonald doing very well controlling the full back line.
The half time score CPR 2:5 CMT 2:6
Coláiste Mhuire started the second half strong kicking 2 points but Michael ale Dooley converted a nice point soon after Sam Dooley puts us ahead in the game with a brilliant finish into the bottom left of the goal witch was well ran by Paul Dooley. Jack Walsh kicking another point putting us more in front and soon after Sam Dooley rattles the net once again great finish which was well ran and worked by James Sampson and once again Paul Dooley. Coming up to full time CPR were ahead by 3 points with another point kicked by Jack Walsh. Great defending from Charlie Carrol and Sean Maher throughout the game but unfortunately a late goal from Coláiste Mhuire and 3 late points our lads unfortunately lost out on going to the next round.
Full time score CPR 4:8 CMT 4:11
Match reported by TY Future leaders Jayden Loughnane, Calum Mitchell and Kaylum Ryan
