School News – 21 Mar 2025

Kindness Week took place all of last week, starting with the fun run on Sunday 9th which was a great success. The Kindness Committee, coordinated by Ms. Connolly- Hogan  put together a massive programme of events across all year groups including Hyrox, a Street Dancing workshop, 1st year Walk and Talk trip, magician Conor Breen, the Shona Project, and visits from past pupils Luke Fitzgerald, Jack Keeshan and Edward Simmons. Many thanks for all the events and the atmosphere created as a result lifted all.

The talent show on Thursday night last was a wonderful showcase of all the talent present in our school community. 29 different acts went on stage.  Dancing, gymnastics, musical recitals, solo and group singing performances were on show for two and a half hours. The variety and standard was incredible. Many thanks to Mr. Maher, Mr. Murphy and the team of teachers who assisted on the night.

And last but certainly not least, a massive congratulations to our senior hurlers and their management team of Mr. Smyth  and Mr. Sheedy. The team emerged victorious from a very tight game and were totally deserving of the victory. They have worked extremely hard all year and now have the winning medals. Thanks also to Mr. Slattery, Mr. Pollard and Mr. Delaney for their assistance with the team on the day. This is a huge achievement for our school and we look forward to seeing how this team progresses next year.

School Golf

Thursday 20th March, in beautiful weather conditions saw our students play their third 18-hole golf competition for the Junior and Senior GOY title. Scores were very good on the day and well done to all students who participated. The leaderboard for the GOY is very close and we hope to get two more competitions in before mid May. Thank you to Roscrea Golf Club, George, Rita and Nancy for taking in the students today and allowing use of the course.
