Munster Juvenile Inter County Badminton
Congratulations to Fia Dooley, Méabh Lyons, Patryk Bochnak, Arnis Litavnieks and Maris Litavnieks who represented Tipperary in the U17 Division 1 and Division 2 at the Munster Juvenile Inter County Badminton. Competition was held last Saturday in UL, Limerick., narrowly losing out on getting to the Munster Final by a game. They all played to a high standard of badminton, with some great individual performances on the day. Well done to you all.
Coláiste Phobal 5k Fun Run/Walk
A fantastic morning was held here last Sunday morning in Coláiste Phobal Ros Cré for the school’s first ever 5k Fun/Run walk organised by the Parent’s Association and kindly sponsored by Premier Credit Union Roscrea. The sunshine was a massive bonus as our students, staff, parents, local clubs and wider community gathered on campus from 8:30 a.m.
We would like to extend a huge thank you to the members of the Parent’s Association and our main sponsor Premier Credit Union Roscrea for the weeks of work carried out behind the scenes in the lead up to last Sunday.
A special thank you goes to the staff and students of Coláiste Phobal Ros Cré who turned out in huge numbers to help or participate in the event.
We are also very grateful to the members of An Garda Siochana and our local Order of Malta team who ensured a safe and smooth running of the 5k route.
We would like to say a special word of thanks to Cllr Michael Smith and Mike Edwards for their help and support throughout the organising and running of the Coláiste Phobal fun run. Both men gave up their time to attend out meetings.
To the local sponsors who generously donated to the raffle prizes, we really appreciate it.
And last but not least , to all of you participants who turned out in huge numbers, we extend our heartfelt gratitude.

This community event aimed to raise funds for the Wellbeing Development program at Coláiste Phobal Ros Cré, promoting physical and mental fitness, teamwork, and school spirit among students, teachers, families, and community members.
Our 5k Fun Run/Walk also marked the beginning of Kindness Week in our school and if this morning was anything to go by, we are really in for a fun and positive week in our school!

Tipperary Minor hurling panel announcement
Congratulations to our 5th year student and Roscrea’s Aaron O Donoghue who has been named as part of the Tipperary minor hurling panel for 2025.
We wish him the very best for the season ahead.
Kindness Week
We here at Coláiste Phobal celebrated Kindness Week this week . A positive and fulfilled week of activities for both staff and students was held where we promoted and celebrated kindness.
Some of the workshops included Street Dancing , Hyrox, a visit from former student Luke Fitzgerald, the Shona Project, An Tobar Nua retreat for TY’s and a walk and talk for our 1st years.
We were also delighted to welcome in two more of our former students and musicians Eddie Simmons and Jack Keeshan for a sing song and on Thursday night our very own musicians held their annual Variety Concert in the school hall.
Lots of awards and prizes were up for grabs for our students and teachers alike.
Our parents were treated to a surprise goodie bag on Wednesday after school and to a gentle movement and breathing class during the day.
We would like to thank the Wellbeing Committee for their hard work and for making Kindness Week an positive week for everyone in our school community.
UCD Entrance Scholarship
Congratulations to past pupil Natasza Fryczkowska who was an entrance scholar to University College Dublin this year.
We wish Natasza every success in her further education and in her future endeavours.
Tipperary Enterprise Programme County Final
On Friday 7th March, TY students travelled to the Tipperary Enterprise Programme County Final in TUS Campus Thurles. Their creative mini-business – ‘Dream Haven’ – that sells dreamcatchers made from horseshoes made it to the final of the competition!
Our entrepreneurs representing Coláiste Phobal Ros Cré on the day were, James Kelly, Ely Carroll, Julia Byczyk and Shannon Fletcher Treacy. We are so proud of their achievements.
Senior Girls’ Soccer
Well done to our senior girls’ soccer team who defeated Scoil Criost Rí Portlaoise in the Leinster Shield Semi- Final.
On the 12th of March, the senior girls soccer team took on Scoil Criost Rí Portlaoise in the Leinster Sheild Semi- Final. The girls started strong with a goal in the first 10 minutes when Amy Carson- Hogan assisted Mya Steele.
Another goal followed minutes later when a pass from Ella Carey to Amber De Lewis saw the back of the net. The backline of Laura Hogan, Aine Dooley, Róisín Maher and Seoladh Cunnigham- Dynan held Portlaoise scoreless in the first half and the half time score at 2-0.
Substitutions came on at the start of the second half and made a big impact on the game. A Goal for Leah Harney in the 65th minute and a long range goal from Kaleigh Delaney made the score 4-0. Sheoladh Cunnigham -Dynan also got a goal that was assisted by Lucy Moloney in the dying minutes of the game.
