Friendship Week
The TY Webwise committee hosted Friendship week from Tuesday the 1st to Wednesday the 9th. Conor Murphy and Kiera Edwards were the school’s Safer Internet Day Ambassadors who had undertaken training from Webwise in how to lead a Safer Internet Day Campaign. Throughout the week we had Online Safety based classes, a Photo Booth, live music provided by Ruby Mitchell, wristbands for everyone in the school and fun competitions promoting Friendship and Internet Safety. Lots of events were held throughout the week in particular classes such as learning to learn and home economics. For example, our 1st year home economics students made friendship bracelets and classes on social media and image sharing were done throughout learning to learn and wellbeing classes for each year group. We also ran an act of kindness draw throughout the week where students would nominate someone else that did something kind for them to be in with a chance to win a prize. Everyone had great fun throughout the week and we feel it has helped improve the safety of the internet for many students
