Roscrea- Communication with Stakeholders:
Coláiste Phobal Ros Cré is a designated community college under the patronage of Tipperary Education and Training Board (ETB). The College was established in 1999 and is an amalgamation of the three schools in the town, Roscrea Vocational School, the Sacred Heart and the Christian Brothers Society. A Memorandum of Agreement was put in place at the time which established Tipperary ETB as the patron with trustee partners of the Society of the Sacred Heart and the Christian Brothers.
In late 2016, the Society of the Sacred Heart formally notified TETB that they wished to formally withdraw from their obligations and duties as outlined in the Memorandum of Agreement. A new agreement was put in place in early 2017 with Tipperary ETB and the Christian Brothers Society. Tipperary ETB have recently been notified by the Christian Brothers Society that they wish to withdraw from the agreement. This decision has been acknowledged and accepted by Tipperary ETB.
The Board of Management, school staff and the Department of Education and Skills will now be notified that the original partners have withdrawn and Coláiste Phobal Ros Cré is now under the sole patronage of Tipperary ETB. The commitment of the Sacred Heart Sisters and the Christian Brothers Society to education for the community of Roscrea over many years is acknowledged and appreciated. Tipperary ETB is committed to the support and future development of Coláiste Phobal Ros Cré for the good of the students, staff and community of Roscrea. It is important to acknowledge the role of the trustee partners in the establishment of Coláiste Phobal Ros Cré as a school for all the community providing quality education experiences.
