The students at Colaiste Phobal Ros Cre had a unique experience on Wednesday 9th March when two pure-bred Irish Angus bulls visited the school as part of the promotion of the Irish Angus breed by four Transition year students who are finalists in the Certified Irish Angus Schools Competition which will be held in Croke Park on Wednesday 16th March. This event created great excitement among the students and teachers and culminated in a guess the weight competition which was won by Paul Cleary first year with Eoghan Ryan (2nd Year) in second place. Many thanks to local Angus breeder Philip O’Meara, Dunkerrin for bringing in the Bulls and to Pat Sheedy, Clashhagad, Angus breeder for his help and advice and Roddy Teehan also for his help. A special thanks to Jim Dochery (F.R.S) and Towra Angus for his advice and help. After two hours in a pen supplied by Roscrea Farm Store, the Bulls were ready to return home and again thanks to all who made this possible.
